AAR Enemy Commander: Bjorn
Buron June 21st 1944
Not much space for deployment, especially for tanks. Deployed mortar in an field where it had no coverage of the intended areas of assaults (Brown dot). Should had deployed it at allied supply VL, for good range and guard duty (Yellow dot) . Due to this failure and the fact that the blindness of guarding ATGs are outrageous, the enemy sneaked around and took it without resistance in the end.

The plan was to keep the tanks safe, codnamed: Good Morning (Cmd Sherman), Majestic (Firefly Vc) and Bloody Mary and it's team mate
HMS Sherman (both being Shermans), from AT teams and ATGs and of course to support the advancing infantry.

1 Section with a Cmd team + PIAT secured the orchard and the VL on the right flank without resistance (Red dot) .
Bren Section was positioned on the left side of the orchard to protect the flank of the assault force. Later during the battle, this section eleminated a german fire team at point-blank range.
Oberst Bjorn probably wanted to take the orchard VL back.

On the right flank, 1 Bren section and a Cmd team was anhaliated by german MG fire from the right building (Brown dot) .
moved in a sherman to help, but it was to late.
Germans withdrew from bilding and later sneaked past my forces and took supply VL in the last seconds of the fight.

Much els didn't happen. Deadlock at the Nearest VL with MG and rifle fire (Blue and Green dots) .
Shermans moved in for fire support with no real effect.

AAR Enemy Commander: Bjorn
Lebisey Woods 21st June 1944

Deployed Sherman DDs and AVRE in safe position against ATGs, but close at hand for support fire, proved to be a good decicion later in battle.
Rifle groups and AC MMGs deployed to cover the church and different approaches. Supply VLs covered by a AC MMG and Cmd team to the east.

When battle begun, a rifle group secured the last building to the south ( Yellow dot). Oberst Bjorn's troopes spotted the move and droped mortar shells on them with no result.

2 Rifle groups crawled to the buildings above the ATG pit and on the opposite side of the Manor VL. Each squad secured a building, the first Rifle group securing the Store VL (Pink dot).
On the other side of the street, barely 30 meters from them, sat a PaK 43/41.
But squad began opening fire on it, but on squad was paralyed by an 88 shell and MG fire from the building next to them.

A Zugführer group rushed over the street pass the church, and was cut down by the second rifle squad (White dot).
Now enemys began firing from the Manor VL.
An AC Assault squad assaulted the building with supressing fire from two mortars and a Sherman DD (Gray dot).
Under the assault across the road, the squad lost half it's men, but still the fought to secure the building, despite the enemy being 3 times more than them.

Moved up a Cmd team and a AC assault group to scure the bildings below the Manor (Blue and Green dots).
Took a lot of fire and lost a lot of men, but managed to secure the backside of the manor.
The first AC group finaly managed to secure the Manor after an amazing CQB battle with flamethrowers and knifes.

in the last seconds, a german LMG team retook the Store, after it's brave defenders had been eliminated by heavy fire.

AAR Enemy Commander: Bjorn

Bretteville 21st June 1944

This map was an "Hide and Seek" battle...or just hide.

Placed forces to keep current ground and to secure and stright out the front line.

Early in the battle the enemy retook "to Carpiquet" VL with a 5 man squad (Feuher trupp?) and secured the nearby house.

A Cmd gr, a Rifle gr and a PIAT gr, supported by a M10 retook the building and the VL under mortar and rifle fire. A Bren gr and a MMG team in churchtowers managed to supress the germans with the help of the M10, that killed 4 grmans in one shot.
Light losses and a german POW.

Managed to sneak a Rifle gr across the railwayline to a couple of haystacks near the bridge to the south.

Also secured the Manor to the south-east.

If I am to play this map again, I have a plan that might work...

AAR Enemy Commander: Bjorn

Abbaye D'Ardenne 21st June 1944

Deployed troops to uccupy all buildings, Mortar section placed at safe distance to the north east corner.
Duckie Squadron DDV Shermans deployed to be safe, but to quick jump in to help suppressing the enemy.
ATG deployed to secure the supply Vl.

When the battle began, a Rifle section was quickly anhaliated by MG and flamthrowers (Red Dot).
Moved in an other Rifle section o clean the buildings and secure the Crossroad VL, in the closest building were a IG 18 75mm hding (Green Dot).
With grenades, shovels, bayonetts and riflebutts the canadians killed the crew, but with casualties.

Germans opened fire from he building next to the IG and killed several canadians.
But with the help of a DD and a Bren goup, the germans withdrew and the crossroad VL was secured.

On the road leading south, 4 Pz. IVs and a Sd.Kfz. 232 raced twords the town. Cmd DD (Duckie Leader) managed to Immob a Pz. IV and destroy the 232, but was in turn Immob by an other Pz.IV.

The 3 remaining Pz.IV raced to the "to Buron" VL (Yellow Dot).
DDs Duckie I and 2 moved to defend the VL.
The first Pz. IV ( a PZ leader ) was destroyed by a hidden PIAT gr.
Sadly the were killed by the Cmd crew.
2 Cd Cmds defended the orchard ( Grey Dot) with high casualties but with success.
2nd Pz. IV had is Main gun destroyed and suffered a lot of damage ( probably kill) and the only survivor abandoned the tank.
Duckie II was unfortunatly Immob.

3rd PZ. IV had the same story as PZ.IV 2.

But before the four tanks engaged each other, I called in a Thypoon rocket Air-strike on them....with no effect!!!
Bloody R.A.F....

With all the Panzers out of action, the enemy mounted what looked like a Japanese Banzai charge, or at least a Red army mass charge.
With ease, the germans retook the lost ground and tried to destroy the Immob. Duckie Leader and retake crossroad VL ( Blue Dot).

But a Bren gr and a Cmd gr managed to defend the tank and the VL with 1-2 casualties, while the germans suffered enormously, maybe 20 KIA/INCAP.
The rest fled.
My men could had prpbably whipeout the entire rest of the remaining enemy forces, but time didn't allow it.

The Battle was at an end.
The Canadians had held their ground.
Both side had suffered.
It was a terrible, but glorious battle.

Results:

Hero of the battle: Duckie Leader, who managed to destroy a Sd.Kfz. 232, Immob a Pz.IV, defend the crossroad VL and stop the german counter attack.

Tilly sur Selles Vs Bjorn

got off whit an really bad start here when he called air on my M10 which survied but got an 6pdr, then i open fire on an pak75 leading to i lost another 6pdr. then hell brooke loose and he advanced whit 3 jagdpanzers and infantry. i had some infantry to set up as an last line of defense. but decided not due to their poor AT capabilitys and non favourable ground i therefore put my hopes to an engineer team ambushing in the forest and my m10 also in forest and a piat. M10 duelled against all three jagdpz at once at an distance of only 50 m my assult team throw tnt and flamed every tank leeding to minor dmg m10 got as predicted blown to pieces engineers got killed and only one imob jagdpz. the piat got to work next caused an jagdpz to loose main gun but one jagd pz brooke free and captured my exit, rushed it whit all my teams but for no effect we got disbanded here. no screenie due to 00.00 crash

Hottot Vs Bjorn
the battle begun whit him rolling an flame HT in to the middle of the town, which i killed quite immeditly, he then rushed some teams around in town and sent another HT to the front due to fear of Schrecks i didnt wanna go to near the village center whit my tanks. not much happend untill last 5 mins when is tarted to sneak my units closer for an attack. in south i advanced thit an cromwell and two infantry teams but i met fierce resistant from one 88 2 jagdpanzers several inf teams, i got chopped to pieces in south. however my attack from the northeast got better results killed an 88 and several infanty then i lost my tank in center due to jagdpz. however we ended up quite good securing the center.

Bretteville vs Bjorn
7th PM

Not much going on in this one he only defended the north. I got most of my casualties when i realized he was guarding the north and I ran. He dropped mortars on my men they were pretty accurate. we fought over the building on the northeast side of RR tracks but he took it do to my attack was not coming from that direction so i did not have enough forces there to push through. In the end I lost some men killed some men and took some ground.

Before

After

A bit late (Should be before Wee's Bois du Bavuent VS Bjorn ) but here goes.
AAR Enemy Commander: Proto
Colombelles

Before the story begins: Man, I HATE this map! Always had, always will.
Alright, with that done, here is what happened (eyewitness account of Capt. Barker):

"After a terrible shortage of deployment, the men were ready. But right in the beginning a Sherman II got shot to pieces by a Pak 43/41 in the NE corner of the area. The accompanying Sherman quickly localized the gun and destroyed it.

Men of the 1st Plt. ran into the nearset factory building to secure it, but ran into hv opposition.
The first assault section lost half it's men in the first 30 seconds, but managed to defeat the [germans] troops charging into the hall with the help of a Cmd team.
The enemy quckly began shelling the building with mortars. Even more casualties were taken.
On the west side of the factory, a Spw S-307 (f) armed with MG and an other one with a PaK 40, guardd the entrances, preventing any assault. Mortar fire on them proved to be ineffective.

On the SE side, we where taking casualties from MG and light FlaK fire. A Marder I hid near the building where the enemy was entrenched.
A Stuart III tried to draw it's attention, to allow a Cmd Sherman to destroy it. But the Stuart got Immob by a Flak and later abandoned.
The Sherman anaged to damage the Marder and destroy the FlaK.
Marder fled around the building.

2 Rifle sections managed to secure the offices and eleminate a enemy MG team.

Hv Flak/Pak fire from the road west of the bridge (possible a Pak 43 or Flak 38 )."

Captain Barker

Lingreves vs Proto
7th pm

I spotted a pak40 from the start and popped it, it was down the middle of the road where my 6 pounder at perfect LOS. Other than that i put 4 good squads in the middle of town and he attacked right into them. Proto's auto weapons and RPG's chewed them up pretty well but they held. I spotted 3 tanks other than that not much happened, I scouted a little bit on each flank and gained some ground they are out of supply here so it should be easier to handle this bg now! well lets hope! Rolling Eyes

BTW my tank was damaged from going over hedges and getting tracked.

Tilly vs Proto
7th pm Meeting eng.

Proto came directly at me with a tiger and 3 MarkIV's the Tiger was hit and tracked and I killed one markIV. But he did his damage to me as well I lost a Command tank a firefly and a sherman but his attack was stopped. By this time though I had already sent 5 Inf squads north and were in position to make an assault across the north hedges. I encounter a little recon vehicle of some sort and sent my Stuart to dispatch it, it worked it was up in flames then so was my stuart, he countered with a another MarkIV. Proto then seen my attack with infantry was not going to hold so he pushed with a recon car to support his MG that was about to be overun! I pushed hard with my infantry and killed the Mg42 and recon car and secured the Lingevres VL. he tried getting back with a MarkIV but came up short.
