Victoria Cross - awarded for valour in the face of the enemy. Highest ranking medal for acts of exteme valor in the face of tremendous odds. Combat action.
George Cross - highest gallantry award for personnel in actions which are not in the face of the enemy. Awarded to 7A members for dedication to duty in areas such as superior recruiting, retention of men, training, strategic leadership in time of war, intelligence work, and other areas of dedication to 7th Armoured, Queen, and Country.
Distinguished Service Order - awarded for meritorious or distinguished service by officers of the armed forces during wartime, typically in actual combat. Typically awarded to officers ranked Major or higher, but the honour has sometimes been awarded to especially valorous junior officers.
Military Cross - awarded for an act or acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land to all members, of any rank.
Distinguished Conduct Medal - for bravery and resourcefulness in combat. Normally awarded to non-commissioned officers and men.
Military Medal - for bravery in battle on land.
Campaign Medal - awarded for Normandy Campaign participation _________________ Major General
